Crackling sound with Cross DJ Pro

When connected to my audio interface there is intense crackling sound.

No apps open and lots of crackle

Without audio interface connected it’s fine.

All my other music production apps work fine.

I had a similar issue with a SugarBytes drum computer app due to multiple MIDI channels being available via my interface. In drum computer I was able to turn off the MIDI sources.

Your app has no ability to control MIDI inputs.

Anyone else solved this problem?

When audiodevices 'produce' crackling sounds when no audio is playing it could be power related. As iOS device and audiodevice not likely generate problems (when not playing)

If you have multiple devices in the audio setup make sure they all use the same phase of the power (e.g same wall outlet). From source (iOS) to amp/speakers.

Other equipment may interfere. Like (LED/halogeen)dimmers, powersupplies etc.

Disconnect all chargers (if possible)

Try working without a ground connector for all connected devices (depends on country you live in if this is allowed/possible)

BTW this is for trying to find the root cause. Not a final setup. If the crackling is a 50Hz noise consider a groundloop adapter.

Might take some back and forth before finding the cause and a recommended solution.

Also try to move the audio cable away from power cables.

The crackling sound is only when music is playing through your app.

100% this is not a ground loop issue.

Like I said I believe this has something to do with MIDI. Is there anyway to control what MIDI sources the app maybe listening to?

To bad it wasn't clear from your initial post.

Have you tried the settings for audio in advanced settings of Cross?

Not likely MIDI has anything to do with it as MIDI itself has no sound and uses different communication layer that hardly transfers any data (bytes <> upto 1Mb per mono audio channel). Also MIDI is trigger based and not continuous.

The audio settings change the audiobuffer size so your CPU gets less stressed.
