due the lack of storage on tablets it would be nice if Cross
could load files from external storage via camera connection kit.

AFAIK that is one of Apple iOS stupid restrictions...

I am also no iOS expert but i know there is a USB device called i-FlashDrive. The appropriat app can play MP3 directly from the i-FlashDrive without importing them into the internal memory.
