Don´t call me uptight, it just really bugs me from a musical pov that 1/4 in the GUI is actually a 16th note...
taking a 1/4th as reference simply doesnt make any sense.

I know "DJs" talk in beats, but hell, educate the masses.

Seriously, what the fukk is a quarter beat
is it still the same with a half-time pattern?
IDK, but note-lenghts always are always the same.

This is an order

May I add that DnB probably has more beats than house even if it is a halftime-track   And Metal from Göteborg has even more

As long as you deal with audio/loops, beat is more handy I guess.

Into Ableton the circles timer are also in beat because you're playing notes into a clip/loop of x beats.

You also forgot the matrix notation like the pattern on the electronic drumbox or Fruity Loops.

The same also apply to key notation, there is not only one way of writing them.
Even for the scratch heads there are 2 (or more ?) notation/writing system.
