Ipod play in Cross

I have had a couple of songs that i have wanted to play off my Ipod, or another persons Ipod at gigs lately, but ipods are not viewable in the 'tree' using the Cross built in iTunes folder currently.
Would it be possible to have an Ipod show up in Cross, in the iTunes tree?? (providing i suppose the Ipod would have to be plugged in prior to Cross launch)?
It just means that i could have my playlist library portable on my ipod similar to an external hard drive principal (like a back up, but at least on an ipod, you can listen to the tunes!)
I think it would be a pretty cool feature if possible
