Pre-cueing Change Request

When I load a new song into Cross 1.7.x for the first time, the file is analyzed. Cross sets the cue point according to the beatgrid, to the point where Cross "thinks" its best set. However, this is less than advantageous for doing a live radio show where the song needs to be cued to the beginning of the track.

I am an on-line DJ who does a live show. Not only is this annoying when using controllers, this behavior requires me to back cue songs pulling down the level on the decks and manually re-cue the song.

I am requesting a preference setting that allows on-line DJs like me to turn off this behavior. The song would simple cue to the beginning of the cut

Thank you,

DJ Jeff Neil

Two workarounds:

1.) Use the mouse and click into the small waveform

2.) Use a rotary knob of your controller and map it to the "seek track" MIDI function, so you can use your controller to scroll the marker in the track (did this for my Xone:1D, works good!)

Nevertheless I can understand that you are asking for a "real" solution!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks for the work around suggestions, Steve. I'll give them a try--but you are right we need a real fix to this issue from Mixvibes.

If the Mixvibes folks are listening, we really need a feature to allow Cross to open the file at the very beginning of a song cut. When doing a live radio show every second counts and having to take extra time to back cue tracks is a huge inconvenience and disadvantage to us.

Please feel free to contact me if you need more background as to why this is such an important issue for us.

Thanks!

Jeff

I use the 'Needles search' option. Works fine  .

Just a addition

I also don't work with a controller, but with the keyboard.
I have the function keys assigned.
Player 1:
F5, start/stop
F6 Track to the beginning (also easily pre-fader listening to a song and then back to the beginning) (needles search to 0%)
F7, Track to 90% of the total playing (needles search to 90%)
F8, Load track (which is selected in a list)

Player 2:
F9, start/stop
F10, Track to the beginning
F11, Track to 90% of the total playing
F12, Load track
