Dear MixVibes Team,

I wanted to offer my condolences and prayers to France in general, and to the MixVibes staff in particular. Cross is the only contact I have with the French, which is why I choose this forum to express my support. That said, I must say that if Mixvibes/Cross is any reflection of the people who are part of it, then you must count me as a supporter and fan. I hope you love your work as much as we love your products. Thank you for this labor we love.

sincerely,

i think it would be great of them and help a lot of people if they had a reposiroty where certain basic mappings same for all conrtollers or a brand say pionneer had all the mappings for the jogs, the faders the master vloume, etc already typed up and maybe even bundled together as a basics to get most of or some of the hardware mapped out with a simple drag and drop feature or an import list that this one file would for almost all pioneers always be the same to cut a major chunk of time out of mapping. Aslo a list of common routing and parameters to help guys like me who know nothing how to do this to achieve something like i read in another post about jog wheels led's being used to display different aspects of play that the original hardware didn't have , like a rack warning or a phases correlation factor being on color when 1'/8 of a beat off another color at 1/16, 1/32 and the green when spot on..or the fx which can have different aspects of the effect mapped to one knob to have multiple fx routing s in a file to just copy and paste in the right place per controller would simplify the whole task so much.

If you have questions about MIDI you best use the MIDI forum section.

FigDJ mapped many controllers in addition to the ones that are available in the Cross program.

If it were as simple as you state it would likely be in place. However there is a lot more to MIDI than can be 'simply' prepared. Even succeeding Pioneer products don't just use the same MIDI codes for the commands.

The other reason not t much development takes place is that HID is somewhat the successor of MIDI in the Pioneer world.

MIDI by itself is a very structured protocol that is very old (over 40 years) and very fast due it is not driver based but at a lower technical level which makes Cross device management using MIDI very simple... Once you are familiar with the details ..

And welcome... Have fun in exploring .
Ronald
