due too a slight problem with the mouse control of the monitor volume,key board mapping can be used to control the volume to the headphones
1- duplicate a existing keyboard mapping, plus key on bottom of mapping
2- open and edit monitor volume ,i used the numeric pad/numeric lock #2/down and the #8/up . note put the lock on when mapping because the same keys control the scroll of the media base
3 i used the existing values but the auto repeat was turned on for each key in the postion for the direction you want the control to go
meaning that on the #8 key the increase line the auto repeat was turned on
and for #2 the decrease line the auto repeat was turned on,
if this is not clear ,trial and error will help
by duplicating a existing mapping ,you can open and edit and also have the existing file still there if things go amiss, plus you can delete the messed up duplicate file
