ION DISCOVER DJ (help!)

Postby eludz on 28 Apr 2021, 21:54

purchased: value village
serial #: nope (since didn't have a CD)

they had 2 of them.. so i bought both.. thought ..
meh .. might work.. might not.. we'll have to see..

when i hook them up.. both work.. (not at the same time..)

***called ION they said the device is discontinued and support is limited, and after talking to them - their tech support basically said that they have no knowledge of the product other than the installation guide pdf file. ***

summary:
- all lights come on?
- lights won't go off when buttons are pressed..
- both seemingly can't interact with Cross DJ at all
- downloaded Cross DJ from the download center here on mixvibes
- called ion support and they said they have no knowledge of product other than the installation guide pdf file, and that the ION Discover DJ is discontinued.

since this is discontinued and i can't get a serial # from ION any longer at all no matter what i do, can someone please toss me a serial # for the Cross DJ, just in case that works, so my 11yr old can play around, prior to putting her on my Numark tts usb..

*unless there is something i have to do in order to control the Cross DJ software with the discover DJ controller in the settings of Cross DJ? but i don't see it as an option to use under any settings when i looked.. (shrug)..

TRIED PRO VERSION OF Cross DJ 4.0 DEMO and the DJ discover controllers both work now just so anyone reading this knows..

THE DISCOVER DJ CONTROLLERS WILL HAVE ALL LIGHTS ON IF YOU DON'T PUT IN A SERIAL NUMBER INTO THE Cross DJ SOFTWARE.. YOU ARE WELCOME EVERYONE OUT THERE THAT READS THIS IN THE FUTURE..

The s/n has to be provided by the manufacturer. This is at the sleeve of the Cross LE CD the controller was bundled with.
If you do not have a CD you likey purchased second hand. The seller could/should provide you the s/n.

However the license would provide you with LE version 2.6 as latest version. Meaning current OS versions are not supported (both Mac as WIn).

So puchasing a new Cross DJ license would be the only solution.

The lights of the controller are handled by the MIDI program feature/mapping in Cross as you noticed by using the Demo. The lights do not have a on/off function that is directly controlled by the button within the controller.

One major advantage of using a Cross DJ license over a LE is that you can fully use the program even when the controller is not connected.

Only if you want the be able to use your tts as DVS controllers in future you may want to consider the Pro version.

Please register your license key.
If the the ion has 2 stereo outputs select Dualstereo.
If one stereo output you can combine with the laptop output using asio4all.
let;s know if you need more info.
