Cross 3.4.3 and Music (iTunes) Integration

Postby rhopkins on 31 Jan 2021, 08:27

I'm not sure if it happened at the exact time of the switch by Apple to the Music App from iTunes, but within Cross when I click on the iTunes tab no library is found.

The path to the library is "/Users/ross/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library.xml"

I know that this is incorrect - the correct path to my library is "/Users/ross/Music/Music/Music Library.musiclibrary". I notice the lack of .xml here. I cannot select this file by browsing to a new library within Cross and even if I manually update the path nothing happens.

I even tried replacing the file extension from .musiclibrary to .xml but no luck.

Is there a workaround?

It's frustrating not to have easy access to recently added music. Of course, I can browse my HDD but I have to remember what I have recently purchased and added to my "Music" library.

There's no work around. iTunes and Apple music have different designs also in the back.
Cross is still iTunes compatible. However this means you need to use older software/OS as it's no longer available in MAC afaik.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

I actually found something that acts as a workaround.

You can go to “export” and then export your library. When you do that it saves as an XML. Then you can import that into Cross.

Every time you add tracks to Music you’d have to repeat the process, but for me it’s better than nothing.
