Cross DJ failing to recognize changes to iTunes playlist

I'm using Cross DJ Free version 3.4.0 and it's failing to track the changes I've made on my iTunes playlist. I tried restarting both Cross DJ and iTunes, made sure all of my updates were current, did a full shutdown, and even tried renaming the playlist that Cross DJ was failing to recognize - and it wouldn't track any of the changes I made.
I even went as far as de-installing and re-installing Cross DJ and it still would not track any changes made to the playlists. And yes, I have been using the 'refresh content' button each time.
Please advise. Thanks!

Did you allow in iTunes to have 3rd parties use it?
(will try to find a topic on this and add the link here)
Pretty sure it's a setting issue where reinstalling will not help you.
Thanks. I figured it out. I had to go into iTunes advanced preference, and check the box where it says "Share iTunes library xml with other applications", it was unchecked.

I have the third party box checked. As I mentioned I've been using Cross DJ for about 7 months now and this is the first time I'm having this issue, and I've made no changes to any of my settings on either iTunes or CDJ. I've also realized that NONE of my changes are now tracking. It's utterly ignoring everything I've done in iTunes for the past week. I even tried unchecking the box, reloading both iTunes and CDJ, and CDJ was still unresponsive to the changes and continued to upload the old playlists. I then downloaded a copy of Mixxx (should be called Suxxx) to see if it responded to the changes, and it did. So I'm at a loss at this point. I really loved your product until this point, but now I have to go do my show. I really hate Mixxx but right now, it works. Hope you guys sort this out.

You didn't mention the 7 months before, So I guessed you just started...
As Cross reads direct from the iTunes lib your changes will be visible once Cross gets proper access.
I'm not to knowledgeable on iTunes, but to me it seems that iTunes restricts access somehow at the moment. Might it be there has been an update of iTunes recently?

There was an iTunes update on 12/15 (ver 12.5.4) but I had worked with it since and have only just noticed the issue within the past week (I used it for my last show on 12/20 and it worked fine then).
Has anyone else reported this issue?

No it's not been reported by others.
So I can only refer to more general known issues.
Only other thing that comes to mind is that maybe somehow you're using a different library in iTunes and that Cross points to the old one.

yes the problem is that many times over, Cross does not read the correct ituneslibrary.xml file.
eg: on many macs there is the default iTunes library in the users/music folder.
however, if you use an external HD with an iTunes library as i do due to local drive space, Cross needs ME to point to the correct .xml file on the external HD every time!
this made worse by the fact that Cross does not remember this setting, so on a quit/reboot, Cross always reads the default .xml from the local folder.
its been a bug for years and ive reported it a few times with no real work or help from the creators sadly.

Afaik Cross stores reference to (local) iTunes lib as set.
To me it makes sence that Cross favors a local lib over one at an external hdd. One of the reasons is the uncertainty of where the external hdd is at succeeding connections. Though it often may be the same driver this can easily be an other one.
