Does Cross need maint after being used for a year...

Postby nhclubowner on 10 Dec 2016, 22:07

I've been running the MAC version for a year and lately have seen Cross doing some strange things so my thoughts have been if Cross has been accumulating data possibly something is getting full and needs attention. Are there maint things that should be done on a regular basis?

You can upgrade to 3.4.0.

The Cross collection grows over time. You could delete the history in the collection tree.

The smaller the collection the faster the collection will respond. But this usually is quite some effort to do. To save a second you may have to delete over 10000 tracks.

If you get audio dropouts it may not have to be Cross, but can be all kind of processes that cause less CPU capacity left for Cross. The easiest thing here would be to increase latency slightly.

Also you may want to verify if your power saving settings are still DJ friendly (hours for HDD, Monitor, No for USB host).

If you have some more factual info on the observations maybe more specific info can be provided.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
