Use U46mk2 with usb hub

Postby DJ Austin on 22 May 2016, 19:09

I have only one usb on my mac air. Can I use soundcard U46mk2 with usb hub which has no external power.
I tried to connect the sound card and novation dicers with the hub which no external power. Everything works but whether the card will give a good signal to the output? whether the card is in this mode to function normally?

Thank you for the answer

The more you connect to the hub the more the power has to be shared.

If it works now with the hooked up devices it likely will keep doing that.

Using a powered hub will make your setup more reliable. So if you for some reason add another device it will keep working.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

When using the card and other devices in the hub of the output power of the signal on the map is not reduced ?

The usb port has a max amperage it can share.

As long as the connected devices need less the digital data will go through. When more power is needed it will result in one or more devices disconnecting. Likely followed by reconnecting.

There's no way of controlling this (maybe if you go deep into this you'll find a way).

If your soundcard connection is lost, Cross will stop the playback of active tracks. Once the connection returns it will continue

So there's only one save option...
