Vfx controller and Cross

Shutting down my computer last night Cross froze. Had to end task. Today the Vfx controller scroll knob doesn't turn the preview on and off. Instead it expands and closes the file tree on the left side of the screen. It scrolls through the library, but doesn't turn preview on and off. Is there a fix for this? Love Cross and the Vfx controller. Running Cross DJ 3.3.10, Windows 7, Core i7 2.00GHZ, 16GB ram

Version 3.3.11 is out for quite a while having stability fixes for 3.3.10.

Though your issue not likely is fixed by this.

If you haven't rebooted I suggest you do that first. Might be something got hooked up somehow.
If this doesn't help, check the MIDI section in Preferences. It might be a different mapping got selected than you normally use.

The behavior as you describe it makes it look like a different mapping is used. It's unlikely (impossible) that a controller sends a different MIDI code for a control, unless you have a 'shifted' command that is now active.

Thank, I've looked through most of the settings but will look again.

Is there a way to shift the command back to the media select knob to turn the Preview on and not expand the file tree?

Yes you can make MIDI mappings as you like.

Copy the one (if it's a default version). Use the x2 button for this in Preferences > MIDI.
Select the copy.
At the right select the option for preview. Click + , use your control and close.

Since I don't know which version of the map you are using. Please make a copy of your current map and post it. Once I take a look at it I'll be able to tell you what is possible with it.

Where do I find the current map? I have tried reloading the Vfx driver, I reinstalled Cross DJ. And I did a system restore to before I had the problem with the Preview not working off the scroll knob. Still the same , pushing the knob now expands the file tree on the left sideof the screen.
