Problem with files stored on NAS

Hi,

i store all my music files on a NAS, i have enabled the always available feature from windows so i can access the files even if my notebook is not connected to the NAS. Everytime I load a file from the NAS Cross crashes or the GUI is not updated for about 5 to 10 seconds. If my notebook is disconnected from the network it works fine, or if I copy a file from the NAS to my desktop and load it everything works fine too.
I don't think that's a windows problem because if I load the file with VLC it loads instant even if the notebook is connected to the NAS.

I'm using windows 7, and I tried Cross 3.3.3 and 3.3.11, both have the same problem. The files are shared with SMB (SAMBA) and the NAS is running with OpenMediaVault.

Most likely something causes a delay in transferring the file into memory.
Cross gui refresh has a lower priority than executing tasks to keep the audio going.
Most programs stream audio in memory, so only have a buffer. Cross has the full track. This makes it possible to do all DJ things instantly.

That all being said...
Have you set your nas as a trusted location.
Do you have a wired network
Try temp disabling antivirus.
Have powersaving for disk of nas to higher time value (avoid disk having to start spinning)
Do you have a drive(letter) set or via network
