How to get Videos to Autoloop

Hey guys, I'm an ex-Serato, ex-Virtual DJ user who is trying out Cross DJ. Right off the bat, all I need to do is play video loops that repeat. Is there any wy to make video loops repeat in Cross DJ? Thanks

Hello,
If you click on Cross Preferences ->Display ...make sure 4 decks is active (brown) then make sure 'Only display 4 pads in samplers' is checked. You can un-check this setting to get 8 samplers but I'm trying to keep it simple for now. You should then see 2 main decks on top and 4 sampler screens on each side below...4 for A side & 4 for B side.

Drag one of your videos into any sampler bank/screen. The yellow 'Select Play Mode' defaults to Loop mode which is what you want. Loop mode is the universal reverse oval arrow. You can click this yellow arrow to scroll thru the different play modes...loop, one play thru video, and thirdly holding L mouse down to play as much or little of the video you desire.

You can even drag different videos into many of the 8 banks and blend them on the Main video screen. Just make sure you have enough video ram on your computer to handle it.

Hope this helps.

In addition to Bostondj..
Load track to deck a or b. Click In at begin. Click Out button at end. Now you have a loop.
If you now click a locator you can save the loop with the track. So next time you load the track you only have to click the locator.

@bostondj
I assume that requires one of the purchased versions? I'm just using the free version for now, until I know for sure its going to work.

How much Vram is needed? I have an Intel 520 graphics card, which shows 8200mb.

@RoJeC

I like that method, its simple. The only thing is the video pauses for just a second when transferring from the end point back to the beginning point. Is there a way to fix that, or should I resort to bostondj's method?

Try disabling Quantize (left top).

Normally it works unless you have a really large video.

If that didn't seem to be it you should try this with the video in full screen mode. The video output has priority over the user interface.

Please let's know the result.

Usually Mixvibes video works well with a 1 or 2GB dedicated video card like Radeon or Nvidia, etc. in conjunction with the on-board Intel card.
If the Intel 520 is a stock card that comes loaded with your computer, it may not be enough. Test it while playing 2, 3 or even 4 or more videos at a time and you will know its limit. More is ALWAYS good here...You can never have enough video ram.

Ok, so updates. I figured out if you go in the video settings tab, there is a check box for load audio and video separately. Checking that allows video to be dropped right into the video preview window, creating an autoloop. However, there is still a bit of lag where I assume the transitions to be. Idk how to fix this.

I tried the In-Out looping method and that works great. However, I would need a way to save these loops for all several dozen of my video clips. Idk if that is possible?

As for the full screen video and the video sampler, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I have access to those features until I buy the full version.

And I couldn't find the disable quantize thing lol. And I can only use that anyway if I can specifically disable it for only the decks that I'm running videos on. I like to run all my audio on separate decks.

There is a button on left top that is labelled quant.

You have video output. Limitation of Free version is that it has a watermark.

To 'save' the loop for a track open the locators. Small button just below the deck buttons at left and righy of screen.
Click on a locator when playing the loop. Next you can do rename the locator. By default you'll see the loop times.

Only deck A and B can be used for vid. Decks CD only have aud.

You may want to explain some more what your intended usage is to maybyget best advice.
