Cross 3.3.11 demo, doing its own thing

I bought a used mixvibes Ultimate pack with the umix-44 soundcard and have downloaded the Cross 3.3.11 demo (64 bit) and want to use my 1210s with a djm600 mixer on windows 10 (64 bit). My laptop is dell xps, i7, 8gb, 256 SSD.

I loaded the demo and just tried it on my laptop 1st and it worked fine. Then the next day I tried to used it with the soundcard and 1210s and got nowhere, and the program just kept crashing.

Now when I try use the demo on its own again on just the laptop it wont work properly. It crash's some times but when it doesn't the sound is terrible and stuttering, all the waves are flickering.

-The seek buttons (arrows) flash really quickly on both channels randomly at different speeds even when no track is playing, both forward and backwards.
-It wont let me scroll down through my collection its as if the up button on my keypad is being pressed constantly.
-It highlights random songs in my collection and keeps moving through tracks. When I click on settings it becomes even more unstable.
I have tried to increase sample rate and it doesn't help. Also I get a popup saying settings and collection are not avalible in demo mode. Is this likely a windows 10 problem or mixvibes?

I have downloaded the U-Mix 44 driver and read that I should try run the 32bit version but I cant find out how to run it in 32bit. Cross just starts in 64bit

Any advice on what to try?

In Windows the 32bit version is a different icon to start it. So the non 64bit text underneath.

Also check you have the latest Pioneer drivers and firmware.

I'm not fully sure but the problem seems to be caused by MIDI communication that triggers all kinds of commands. A driver mismatch could cause this.

Also be sure to have the right mapping selected in Preferences, MIDI tab.

Please let's know the results.

Thanks for the replies.

I just tried to open the other Cross. It opens but it doesn't say either 32 or 64bit so I assume its the 32bit one. But the seek arrows still flash and random highlighted tracks.

In the MIDI tab it is empty and says no MIDI device available, but I'm not using a MIDI anyway if I understand what a MIDI is?

Also it seems strange if I cant use DVS or settings in a demo mode. These are the only features someone like me wants to actually demo to see if I want to pay for the software when there is a free version of Cross that doesn't have the added features.

The 32bit indeed is the one without telling it is 32bit.. When implemented the 64-bit was new, so no one thought of renaming the 'old' type.

MIDI would translate to the communication protocol used by a DJ Controller in this situation, though Pioneers can also talk HID....

Please verify you have the Cross Demo version. This differs from the Cross Free version. Free is limited functions, unlimited period. whereas the Demo is all features limited period; without option to save.

So testing DVS is one of the most important reasons why the Demo has been added.

If you have the right version, please try by running Cross without anything connected, using laptop soundcard.
It might be good to know that Cross ask the OS for available MIDI, HID and sound cards on startup of the program.

The 3.3.11 is W10 compatible.

Please let's know the results.

yes it says 3.3.11 demo on startup and in the top left hand coner on the program when opened.

I am just trying to use it on only the laptop. When i loaded it 1st time after download (64bit) i was just using it on laptop only and it worked fine all tho i only tried it for around 30 mins but sound was clear and no glitch's.

Its only after i tried to use the U-Mix44 and DVS that the problems started. Sice then i have gone back to just trying it on laptop only without U-Mix44. And then i tried the 32bit version with the same problems.

ive took a couple of screen grabs with the message about limitations (it says settings and collection are disabled) and one with the seek arrow pressed. Ill try upload them.

I tried unplugging my mouse but that didn't help. One thing i did notice is there is 2 keyboards in the keyboard tab one is PC desktop keyboard and one PC laptop keyboard the laptop one is highlighted orange.

Still not clear what's going on, despite your good effort to provide info....

Keyboard is normal. You can choose any (in purchased version you can create your own keyboard mappings if you like).

The statement is that you can't save settings. (between sessions).

For DVS usage you best have a soundcard that uses ASIO. This should make it possible to have it set to 5ms or lower. This is what you need for "responsiveness" feeling.

If you don't see one, install asio4all from asio4all.com.
After this start Cross, select asio4all soundcard. Edit settings> select your physical soundcard.

If you keep having the problem, next would be to MANUALLY remove the "mixvibes.settings" file
c:\users\[username]\appdata\roaming\mixvibes
(reinstalling Cross will not help you with this).

Please first make 32bit version of Cross work with local sound. Trying other things will only add confusion.

Your mouse shouldn't be any problem (if it worked normal before and doesn't beep when clicking the left eye....))

OK so i didn't see ASIO so i downloaded that and its now worse. When i opened Cross i tried to set it for ASIO4all and my laptop soundcard in audio tab because i wasn't sure what you meant, but both still don't work.

Now when i run Cross the track is jumping all over the place because of the seek buttons being pressed. Also if i click and hold on Cue it does nothing.

On settings folder i deleted the mixvibes settings and the U46 settings as this isn't my soundcard but when i open Cross these files come back. But the U46 isn't a option in audio tab and i cant find where this is to delete it.
