Duplicate tracks warning

Hello:

If I place a duplicate track in the collection, the "duplicate warning" does not show up. If I somehow turned on the "don't show me again", how can I get this feature back?

Thanks

Do you have the exact same folder and file name for the 2 files.

Do you have the exact same folder and file name for the 2 files. Also be aware that it may be windows that holds seemingly different files in the same directory using a different identifier.

I suggest using a good (audio) file duplicate finder program to keep duplicates out of your collection. Preferably one that not only reads ID3-tags and let's you set how "close" a match must be (to avoid missing titles with spelling errors and such), but also do an audio signature kind of thing.

Hello:

I asked the question because I have several duplicate tracks in my collection related to only one track in the directory...I was wondering how they got there? Anymore insight?

Thanks
DDJJ

ps all the track info is the same except the creation date is different...strange...

Please confirm the paths of file as well as the full filename are exactly the same. Even a difference in capital may cause this.

Hello:

Your right, on the duplicate files, there was caps vs. lower case in the filename directory, my directory has been the same since day one....I dont know how that changed but at least I know the cause! However I did try to add a duplicate track, to see if the warning came up...it would not allow the track, but no warning!
