I've Mixvibes Pro 7 and I try to install MV on my new computer with Windows 10. It doesn't function (it doesn't install)!

I use Ver. 7.2 (prelisting ver 7.3 doesn't work!)

The mv pro 7 isn't supported for many years. Not even w7 is supported.
The only W10 compatible mv software is the current version of Cross, as mentioned 3.3.11.

As you have experienced not being supported doesn't always mean it doesn't work...

If software doesn't install this could be fixed by choosing 'run as administrator' for the installation. Which differs from haing admin rights as a user.
With other software i've worked around by running dos cmd as administrator and install by command line.

Upgrading to Cross would be the way to go i suppose.. A demo version is available for trying...

Dear Ronald, what about the 4000 files which I've tagged in Mixvibes Pro (genre, label etc.) ?

there is nothing you can do. Mixvibes pro 7 is not compatible to Mixvibes Cross .

I can't compare old to new as I never had it..
Cross will read the files and if the tags you modified are in the tag info of the track file it will be in the collection as is.
I know Cross writes the tags (unless track file is read only...)

The bad news is that one day you may have to do it....

My suggestion would be
import the tracks in Cross

create playlists to export per 'value'(genre) in mvp

import a playlist
batch modify the value (select all tracks and via info node at right open details menu)

It might take you a weekend....

BE CAREFULL the Cross DEMO does NOT have the option to save your collection.
Cross Free version can be used for this, but doesn't support MIDI or DVS; but this collection can be used if you purchase an upgrade.
