Cross DJ not opening

Hi

CrossDJ is not opening for me. I had it running previously on Windows 7 on a 2GHZ processor which it was a bit glitchy so I figured that as the processor was below min requirements that was probably the issue so I changed the processor to a 2.2GHZ one to see if this would help but now CrossDJ is not opening. I can see it start up in the process list in Task Manager but it never appears on screen and disappears from the process list on Task Manager.

Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

try deleting the mixvibes.settings file

c:\users\[user name]\appdata\roaming\mixvibes

has to be done manual. uninstalling Cross won't delete it.

Hi

I did that but still the same issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Cross after deleting the settings file as it still wasn't working.
I also looked for the settings file to see if it was back but its not.

Thanks

Have you tried starting the 32bit version (the non 64bit).

I didn't see the option, only one has downloaded which I think is the 32 bit but I'll take a look & let you know.
It's a pretty old laptop so I'd say it should be the 32 bit I'd use.

Ok; of your OS is 32bit only the 32bit Cross is being installed. When you have 64bit OS this will be installed simultaniously as it's part of the same installation file.

It's getting a little hard situation, as if you don't even see an initial Cross screen in the center of the monitor you are really in the beginning of the start up. This points to the earlier mentioned settings file usually...

Only thing I can think of is to go back to really full reinstall. Just to be sure nothing else is interfering.

BTW if you're not using 3.3.11 please just upgrade to this...
else
- Uninstall Cross
- manuals remove the settings file again
- rename/move your collection file(s) *.crossdb
- if you have *.journal files with the same name as collection make sure to keep them in the same folder as the collection file.
- Refresh your folder content to be sure it was really deleted.
It shouldn't be necessary, but a reboot of your PC will exclude any other pending issue.

After reboot stop your antivirus temporary. Install Cross DJ. Start Cross...
start AV again before replying back in forum...

Tried all that including turning off AV and still no luck.

Whats happening is when I click to launch the program cross-dj.exe appear in the process window as if loading then then I get the pop up about changes on the file etc. which I accept and then it reappears back in the processes window but then it's gone and Cross DJ is not open.

I even tried uninstalling and going back to the disc with Cross DJ 2.0.1 to see if I'd have any luck launching it and then upgrade it to 3.3.11 that way but having the same issue.

What message do you get here. It isn't normal.
First thought is that it may the the collection file and that you don't have the proper rights for the location.
Maybe you can test this.

So the 'good' news is that it is something typical for your environment... We'll keep trying to get you started...

Was replacing the processor the only thing you did or did this trigger other actions. Have you e.g. restored data, which could lead to many files having Read Only attribute.
