problems with peripherials

hi

Is it possible that when Cross DJ is installed on a macbook pro and the Vfx Control is connected to the MBP it ONLY works if no other peripherials are connected to the remaining USB port?

The mapping is correct and when only Vfx Control is connected it works, no problem, but if a mouse, pendrive, etc. is connected to the other USB port suddenly the controller stops working

is this a common behavior?

thanks in advance

This isn't normal.

Are you using external power for the Vfx?

What osx and mbp are you using.

the Vfx is using external power

MBP details
2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
OS X 10.9.5

only works when no mouse or other peripherials are in the remaining usb port

* is it possible that Cross DJ doesn't have full mapping of the Vfx?
JOG doesn't work for example
** is it also possible that volume controls on MBP are blocked when Vfx Control is plugged in?

thanks

Very strange. Usb devices cannot get exclusive access to a usb host.

Have you tried a different mouse, just to check if it would be a unique conflict.

Other unexplainable is that MIDI uses a different comm protocol than hid mouse. So no interference should occur.

If the volume controls don't seem to work it might be the os links the controls to an other sound card driver.

It might be others have more useful advice....
