Importing Files

Importing a music file from a USB Thumb Drive, copied from an iTunes library on iMac. On another Mac, Import the file into CDJ, locate it, and add it to an existing playlist, which it does. However, when I try to load it into a player, I get an error message that file cannot be found. Then tried adding the file to the iTunes library of the second Mac, which works but again, after loading it into a playlist, I get the same error when trying to load into a player. I can however add the file to a player if I go into the iTunes folder on CDJ, and do it from there. Please advise. Thanks.

Which osx version. Which Cross version.
Are you using recordbox?
By CDJ do you mean Cross DJ or Pioneer CDJ.. As the latter is the 'common' abbreviation you'd better not use it for Cross DJ.

i can't tell if you are referring to an actual audio file, or an iTunes library....but..iTunes libraries are .xml files that keep the file locations directories info in.
if u copy a library to another drive/HD etc.. the library will not 'point' to the correct location as it has changed.
if u want to use a library on other macs' it has to be edited to suit the new directory.
hope that helps.
