No volume output

I am having problems with the volume output of the program. It has been running smooth for 9 months.

My computer is fine and so is the cabling, mixer etc as other players work.

I have deleted the program in total and reinstalled it in the hope it would go to factory settings as i am worried my staff or me have pushed a wrong button. We are digi-morons.

As soon as i open the reinstalled program all my songs are in there and my playlists etc.

And..... again it plays without volume.

Where can you turn off the volume? Is there a mute button hidden somewhere?

Where can i turn on/off the volume within Cross?

How can i permanently delete everything so when i install Cross again all my files are gone too (playlists etc.)?

Any button to return to factory settings?

Help me if you know as it is the heart of my music in my bar and we miss it!!

Kind regards,

Haasie

Uninstalling provides little or no chance of fixing this.

The mixvibes.settings file, which is located in the user profile handles sound settings. As this is a user edited file an Uninstall is not allowed to remove this file.

The other file you mention is the 'collection'. This holds your tracks. No use to remove this as no sound setting is hold here (at least not relevant to this issue).

First suggestion is to have your computer itself produce the sound.
Start the 32bit version of Cross (so the non-64-bit).
Go to Preferences > audio. Select your computers soundcard. Select simple or dual stereo.
Load a track in deck A and press play.
Check the Main knob fader at the right top to be open.

Please let's know the result so we can work towards the wanted setup.
Also please tell which version of Cross and OS you use (latest Cross 3.3.11)

geachte Ronald!

Mijn dank is zeer groot... Als digi moron zijn dit soort dingen zeeeeeer vervelend!

I will continue in english so maybe other tips come in too.

First of all, yes that worked!

I went to preferences and to audio.

I have three options: Speakers (realtek HD Audio), 1- Samsung AMD HD (i think this is my audio card right??) and Realtek digital output.

It was set on the Samsung. Changed it to Realtek, did nit work and when i put it on speakers, it does.

Would this mean my Samsung AMD card is not working?

This would mean i have to go to a shop as i do not know how stuff like that works or breaks.

I am based in Thailand so visits to the shop can be nightmare as no one speaks english ;)

Well, at least it is working now. That is a BIG difference!

Mijn dank is groot!

I have a few more questions about how to get all songs on the same volume output so we do not have to turn the volume up and down during business hours. I hope i can ask you this too. But i first send my big thanks!

Kind regards,

Haasie

Well you proved a lot to be working..

I would suggest to reinstall the (latest) audio driver before concluding the soundcard is broken.

The analysis of the tracks is supposed to balance the volume between tracks. The balance level is 'line level'. One thing that might help is to always analyse newly added tracks. Select the tracks and click analysis button at the right.

If you have tracks with silences (e.g. Begin or end) the volume may be of a bit. You can adjust analysis results. If you right click at the header fields of the collection you can make the volume field visible. This can be edited.
I hardly ever have to do this, only for short samples.

Keep using the 32bit version to test your soundcard. Once this works we can assist to have it work in 64bit bit.
