Hi I've purchased a Denon Dn-hc1000s to run through my bundled Cross LE software however in the preferences it doesn't have a section called MIDI on keyboard.
Please tell me I'm being stupid and there's a way to install it?
if this software doesn't support MIDI controllers then that really is ridiculous.
Any help would be appreciated, cheers

The Cross LE versions support the device it is bundled with. The exact features may slightly differ per device but for sure the MIDI is supported for the concerning device.
The LE versions must be started only after the MIDI controller is recognized by the OS.
I'm not sure but don't think the LE was bundled with denon, but might be mistaken. If you want to use it with Denon you will have to upgrade to Cross DJ as this supports all MIDI devices. (check the list for controllers to see if a default mapping is available).
You do have to enter your license key in your user profile to be able to upgrade at the discounted rate.

My device is just a mixer which is not MIDI.
But it was bundled with the software.
So is there no way to run it through my package that I already have

Indeed, the LE versions only work with the controller it was bundled with.
Other advantage of going to Cross DJ version is that W8 and W10 (and OSX) are supported in the latest versions (3.3.x), whereas LE ended with 2.6.
The manufacturer of the device has selected the license to bundle it with.... Some package are sold even cheaper bundled than the Cross DJ version stand alone...

it's a denon (in first post of topic).
Still registering is recommended. For sure if it wasn't bundled with latest LE, so you can download this one.

My Setup is as follows:
X2 Pioneer CDJ 800 MK1 (running timecode CD's)
Allen & Heath Xone 23C Mixer
Denon DN-HC1000s MIDI controller (just for cue points)
MacBook Pro 2011 model with OSX El Captain (latest version)
I cannot believe I can't use this DN-HC1000s on the LE software, I'm gutted!
I have registered my serial key twice now, does it not show I have or something?

This clearifies what you want to achieve.
Not sure if the LE for the A&H allows for multiple MIDI once the A&H is hooked up.
Don't recall having seen this question. Could mean others have no issue, or you're the first to try. Other could be El Capitan issue and last it might be that if you use the software in 32-bit mode it does work, in case the controller connects in 32-bit mode only.
Likely someone of MixVibes has to provide the answer if it can have more than 1 (the other Cross versions can be used with upto 8 MIDI devices; but again, LE is a basic version).
BTW you can forget about my 2.x story as the A&H started with 3.x, so you can upgrade to 3.3.11 once you have access to the downloads section... Also the best to confirm you're issue in this version as older version may have issues that are fixed meanwhile.
For the registering please send a PM to team@mixvibes. If you filled it in your user profile something didn't apply automatic to change your credentials.

So what package would I need to upgrade to if I wanted to run my MIDI controller whilst using DVS?
Cross DJ or the more expensive pro version
I would have thought you could get DVS control on the cheaper version considering I can run DVS through LE

You will need the full version for DVS.
And if you do not have the MIDI tab in preferences or not the option to add mappings to the MIDI tab this will be the way to go.
Only way to select your own features in a version of LE would be to become a hardware reseller....
