How to update collection?

I added some music to my collection folder, but Cross DJ doesn't seem to pick the songs up. The mobile app for Android has a "Scan for files" action, but I can't find the equivalent for Mac. For now I had to add the new files manually, but surely there's a way to tell Cross DJ to scan for new files?

  are you talking about the PC /mac software Cross DJ ,, if so you can right click the display/menue ,,where you would select inport track one at a time ,, and select inport directory ,,it will over right the current collection and add all tracks not in collection,,but in the directory,,you might have tracks in there that you might not want ,,unless you keep strict control on whats in the directory

 and if it is the computer version of Cross DJ ,,please regerster the licence key in the fourm ,,,,user control panel/profile/serial #

I got the software via the Apple Store so I'm waiting for the email from djcommunity@mixvibes.com so I can add my license key.

It's really disappointing that I'd have to re-import my entire folder. My collection folder is very large (over 30,000 files - I've been collecting MP3's for years) I've also removed files from my Cross DJ collection that are still contained in the folder, so it's going to add all of them back in if I do this.

I guess I'll have to do this in a separate step. I'm surprised that this basic functionality isn't part of the desktop version of the software, especially since it works fine in the Android version.

Thanks for responding to my question.

 this might not be the true answer ,,as to i only inport one file at a time ,, only once did i use this feature due to needing to add 100 gospel songs for a event,, wound up having to remove about 300 to clean up the collection ,

You could create a search folder at your Mac with a date selection.
Next drag the folder on the 'collection' node at the left.

The android app works totally different because the android Mediabase keeps track of the changes. So the info is present in a database. Also here issues are in place with e.g. (file) sync that under conditions are hanled as new files whereas the PC/Mac version can use the filename...

The add new tracks function for both Win as Mac seems nice but as there are a multiple ways to have edits to the file, outside Cross, you may end up just as bad.

It merely is a habit than a time saver as the adding is only a minor step (in seconds) in maintaining your collection.

So what I ended up doing was using my iTunes "recently added" playlist because I already have a separate step in my workflow of adding things to iTunes that I want accessible over the network. Since all the items were there, I was able to import from that playlist. Seems to work okay.

As long as you use iTunes you can access the iTunes 'smart list' from within Cross and just drag to the collection.

Select iTunes node at the left node dock. Select tracks. Drag on Collection node.
