Phantom / Ghost files in Folder View

I installed a clean install of my Mac and backed up my music to an external hdd.

After installing Cross, transferring my music back to the main hard drive and getting ready to do a mix, I noticed that my folders view has lots of files that start -.

When you click one it says "Invalid file" or something similar.

I use files view so I can find songs I wish to play without searching for them in the endless list that is collection view.

Now, if I navigate to the same files that are on the EXTERNAL HDD, the phantom files arent there, just the ones I have copied to my MAC's hard drive.

Strange.

So, I right click on the files that start "-.Jess Glynn - Right Here.mp3" and choose view in Finder and the file doesnt exist.

Where is Cross getting these strange files from? Its making my folders unuseable. As it looks like this:

"-.Jess Glynn - Right Here.mp3" - NO SUCH FILE
"Jess Glynn - Right Here.mp3" - WORKING
"-.Clean Bandit - Nightingale.mp3" - NO SUCH FILE
"Clean Bandit - Nightingale.mp3" - WORKING

This problem has arose after copying all my files across from external to internal.

I have deleted them all and re-copied to another folder name and get the same issue.

I have tried copying all files on internal hdd into another folder but somehow these ghost files are coming across too. Why is Cross seeing these when my mac cant?

HELP!!!

After further searching, it looks like they are present in Macs when transferring from a FAT3s formatted drive (Such as my external HDD).

They are hidden by finder in OSX by default. Cross shouldnt be showing these in files view as they should be hidden.

Is there any easy way to hide these?

Fixed the problem using the following command:

dot_clean /Username/Music

Problem sorted.
