Booth monitor with Pioneer DDJ-Ergo

Postby DJ Greg on 21 May 2015, 09:26

Hi,

I'm using Cross 3.3.10 and have a Pioneer DDJ-Ergo. Everything works perfect, but I was just wondering if I can use 1 output of the DDJ-Ergo as the "main-output", and the other as the "booth monitor" ? I would like to change the volume of them separately with a control on the DDJ-Ergo.

Is that possible ?

Thanks in advance !

I had a quick look at the manual and it seems to be possible i.e. no warning to not use both at the same time.

There is no control at the controller, so likely the signal is split after master out volume.

Likely your monitor has a volume fader. So the good thing would be that the volume of your monitor is setup stays in relation to the floor, whereas adjusting monitor might make you loose it.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Hi RoJec,

Thank you for the reply.

Well, I'm using it like you say. The DDJ-Ergo has 2 outputs : Main-out 1 (TRS) and main-out 2, I'm using 1 for the club and 2 for my monitors. Problem is I can't adjust the monitors volume (no volume fader on the monitors) without the volume in the club going down. I was wondering if I could for example map a scroll button on the DDJ to control the volume of main-out 2, and use the scroll button 'Master Vol' for the volume of main output 1 ?

It is a pity that the DDJ-Ergo has no output for booth monitors, but I knew that when I bought it ;-)

I quickly went through the MIDI table of the device. Didn't see any command then master.;no separate commands mean you can't map...

The problem is that Ergo has 2 master outputs. There is no booth output. The 2 master outputs uses different audio cables to help choose which one fits your needs.
I'm not sure but something like this might help you to control the second output.
