Recording MIC with U-Mix 44

Hi there!
I've just bought a U-Mix 44 soundcard. (I know its not a new device, but it seemed to have everything what i wanted and was cheap.)
I wanted to record from the Microphone input, and also use the MIC with Traktor and add FX to it.
Unfortunately i was unable to do either of those - no signal was detected from the MIC input nor in Traktor nor in my DAW.
The two output leds were flashing when i used the Microphone, so the device was getting the signal from the MIC (they also reacted when adjusted the MIC level knob).
I also didnt hear any sound from the MIC input in the headphone, so could not even monitor the input (I used only a headphone as output, the 2 stereo RCA was unused - so i dont know if there was any sound coming out from the MIC at all).
I installed the latest U-Mix 44 driver (1.0.4) and used ASIO in the softwares (also tried WDM at the end, same result.
Then I also installed the separete ASIO driver, no change.
I choosed this card mainly coz it has a 6,3 Microphone input, which seemed to be routable by software. In the quick start manual (the only kind of manual i was able to find...) theres a diagram, where the MIC input has a "REC MIC" at the end, along with "REC 1&2" and "REC 3+4" for those channels.
Also theres a sign "If MIC in will be invilid", which i dont really understand.
So my questions would be:
Is it possible to route/record/monitor/manipulate the signal from the MIC input, and if so, then how?
Is any manual available for the U-Mix 44 whats more extensive then the quick start guide?
Big thanks for any help!
cheers
