Getting rid of unused stuff

In window under the MIDI tab I have dozens of controllers listed, how do I get rid of anything I'm not using?

Same place, I have a lot of MIDI devices. I want to remove all the extra tabs and only have the ones I am using. Is there a way to get rid of the extra tabs?

Is there a way to save my configuration so all of the above doesn't keep coming up?

Thanks, I appreciate any help!!!

The ones which are part of Cross can't be removed.

Your mappings can be deleted using the buttons.

You could copy default mappings you use and rename. By this all the mappings youuse are at the bottom of the list.

If you mean you have multiple tabs because of the connected MIDI controller than that is not changeable. It even is important to have a mapping linked that isn't of a different type. Using a weong may trigger MIDI music being played every now and then.

Formerly used MIDI-devices stay as tabs in the preferences. but you can delete those unnecessary & unused tabs with the small "-" on the right side of those tabs. I am doing this often because I occasionally install different controllers of friends and just for try things. Afters this it is necessary to delete them again in my Cross.

Thanks for the answers. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear but I can work with it. Still trying to figure out how to get the Kontrol S2 to talk to CDJ.

Best regards,

What are you trying to achieve.
Do you want both to communicate via Cross..
Have your CDJ's been set to talk MIDI (as only Cross talks HID, Cross DJ doesn't).

Please try being a bit more descriptive on what you want and what happens instead. Also some setup info may be handy to receive useful suggestions.

My current hardware is as follows:
iMac2009 OSX 10.8.5
3.06GHZ Core 2 Duo
12G RAM
Twin monitors
iPad2
iPhone 5

Audio:
MOTU UltraliteHybrid mk3
Mackie ProFX12
Mackie Thump 15D (2)
Behringer 208 (2)
Behringer 1800D

DMX Lighting (40 or so fixtures)

USB MIDI Controllers:
(main system)
Novation Launchpad
Novation Launch Control
Novation Launch Key MINI
Novation Impulse 49
NI Maschine Mikro 2
NI Traktor Kontrol S2
DMXIS (for lighting)
(alternates)
Pioneer DDJ-WeGO K
Numark Orbit

Software (currently)
Traktor Pro 2.7.3
VDMX5/CoGe
Maschine 2.2
Lemur (custom app for DMXIS control via MIDI)
Show Buddy (automated DMX control)

Quik Config:

Traktor is main DJ app. Output goes via firewire to MOTU to speakers. VDMX5 feeds audio from movie files thru Returns pair to Traktor. This is so I can thru Traktor process. VDMX runs as a Syphon server, to play music videos as well as live overlay video from my iPhone. It all works pretty well but I am pushing the limits of the mac. So my quest to run less software. Have looked at a couple of packages but only Cross has delivered a one size AV with acceptible quality and functionality. Big question is will it fit in my MIDI world.
Basically that's what I'm trying to achieve. Make sense??

Thanks for the response.

Best regards

Cross supports upto 8 MIDI devices connected.
You can modify and create MIDI mappings.
Over 80 mappings present.

First impression is that there doesn't seem to be a problem. I guess you have to schedule a moment to use the Demo version. 15 days to test without limitation. ..

just as Ronald said... ;-)

I appreciate your power to do things! if you were not that far away... ;-) 40 fixtures via DMX? that's pretty much. I carry two dozens around and I Need a small Trailer to get it done.

For the MIDI Equipment you DON'T NEED in Cross: you can delete the tab. And as you will surely want to personalize your mappings you will find them at the end of the lists of available mappings. just one stroke with the mouse. as easy as can be. So give it a try!

Your general idea is pretty good. The Video engine in Cross took the best out of the experiences from having "VFX-CONTROL" and beamed it into a new decade when it comes to the code. And it constantly evolves. Having pics as your personal stamp or texts running through the vid is no Problem. neither is the use of one or more webcams to show the audience in the screen or even your fingers while working.
"Now, everybody have a look at the Screen and raise your Hands in the air! You'r on TEEVEEEEEEE!
