My guess is you have a Mac.
Next guess is the font Arial isn't present or not active.

If you register your license key in your user profile you will open up more forums.

Opened Font Book to discover that the font Arial was disabled for some reason? Enabled the font in Font Book and restarted Cross to find it displaying text ...
