SYNC Button behaviour/not working

I'm using Cross LE 3.1.3 on mac, and the sync button doesnt seem to work as expected. As in Virtual DJ and Traktor it will sync up the track if you're slightly ahead/behind. However, on this it seems to jump to places in the track/go out of time. Is this a bug? or is there something I'm not seeing.

Cheers.

John

Hi, Welcome,

If you register your license key in your user profile you can update to the latest version (3.3.10).

Sync isn't supposed to do large jumps. In Preferencese you can set the Sync 'mode'.

Other related to this behavior is the Quantise and Snap. If you have large values here (left top of screen) this may be it (turn off to see change in behavior; start with 1 to have these features work on the beat; you can tweak later if you want to use/explore the feature.

Thanks for the reply. I did try to update but it keeps rejecting it even though I have the serial number in the user CP. I've got quantise and snap on 1. It's still jumping large sections of the track.

For getting your credentials manual adjusted please send a PM to etienne_badaroux.

What are your quant/snap values?

How do you trigger?
If by controller, try using mouse in GUI and see what happens. If there is a difference your MIDI mapping might have something wrong.

Still recommended to update Cross LE first.

Hi,

I'm not using a controller, im just using my laptop and the allen and heath Xone 23c mixer. It always seems to sync it a bar or two behind or jump to a random point in the track.

I have snap and quantise on 1

Are the downbeat markers on the first beat? just to make sure...

I am still struggling with this atm. The sync is fine for tracks of lower tempo, any house music/electro etc. When I try to mix hardcore (170bpm) the beat grid is all over the place and very rarely gets anywhere near where it should be and the sync just seems to jump bits of track.

anyone suggest why?

Now its slowing down whatever song is on the left deck to about 1/4 of the speed, ridiculous.

You need to adjust the tempo analysis range in preferences. If you ahve set it to default (I think 100bpm to 150bpm) then your tracks of 170bpm are recognised with a lower initial bpm hence if you sync they get accelerated rodiculously.

.. and when you enable the editor in the waveform (click pencil when hoovering) you get the '/2' and 'x2' buttons to do it for quick fixes.
