Headphone and Output sound distorted...AAARRRGGGHHH!!

Postby nice1vibes on 25 Feb 2015, 20:37

Hi everyone,

Where do I start... My initial problem was that I couldn't hear anything through my headphones, this has since been rectified having downloaded ASIO4ALL - as recommended by Numarks customer service. The issue I now face, which is even more frustrating that not hearing anything at all, is that the sound being produced, both through my headphones and through the output connected to my amp is extremely distorted!!! It would seem that whilst the ASIO4ALL driver rectified the initial problem - being a lack of sound - it has only created another - the distortion of sound. AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!

In terms of my setup, I am using a Numark Mixtrack Pro 2 and a Windows 7 laptop. Does anyone have any advice????

Additionally, I have seen in several forums that their maybe a specific ASIO driver for my Mixtrack Pro, but none of these postings have stated the link in terms of where I can locate this specific ASIO driver. Again if anyone can give me some comprehensive advice I would be extremely grateful.

Cheers peeps

The Numark website has the available drivers. The asio4all is a good add on.

Distortion usually is caused by the audio buffer size being to low. You can find it below the selection field for the audio driver in preferences.

In asio4all you should only select channels you actually use. [When Advanced options enabled only].

First increase and afterwards reduce. This also determines responsiveness so to high isn't working smooth but having distortion is wrong.

It is a common set up challenge for new DJ software users. .. you just need to get familiar with the balance between performance and features.

Pretty important is to have your tracks analysed before using as this takes cpu performance on heavy duty moments.
