Audio Dropouts on Mac

I am using the latest 3.3.10 for Mac, but the previous 3.3.9 release did the same thing. ALL tracks while playing will have audio dropouts / freezes every few seconds. There doesn't seem to be anything else running on the system that could cause it, and I've made sure all other programs are closed and wifi is turned off. Any ideas? This happens even when playing from internal speakers!

I'm running a Macbook Pro 2.6 GhZ quad-core i7, so processing power shouldn't be an issue at all. My OS is the 10.10.1, I've got 8GB of ram, and I'm using an SSD.

Thanks!

increase latency (buffer size) in Preferences > Audio tab.

Already tried that, and I don't think that would've applied to playback through the internal audio would it? Anyway, I found the solution. I was going nuts (have a gig in the morning!), went through every single setting (even the ones that didn't seem to apply) and found that DVS control was enabled for Deck 1. I don't know why this should make a difference, but it did. Disabling it seems to have solved the problem. I use my CDJs in HID mode so this setting doesn't affect me.

I am going to suggest that this is a bug - enabling DVS control on one deck shouldn't affect audio playback if no DVS signal is present, should it?

Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

Great you found it. Can't tell if this setting should be of influence. When enabled it will be active as it is waiting for tc signal. It wouldn't make sense to have an energy save funtion as alternative.

What could be happening is that the tracks deliver tc related signal as part of the sound spectrum; some kind of loop effect...
