Different audio level on 2 channels

Hey guys,

it's been a long time since i used Cross and i decided to try it again because of several updates. I connected everything how i should (i think so). I use 2 CDJ 800 and a DJM 700 and the u46 inteface. But now when i play a track the audio level on input 1/2 is higher than on 3/4. There is no problem with the cdjs, i switched channels on both of them but there is always a higher audio level on 1/2 than on 3/4. I used the same track on both decks to test this. I use timecode.

Hopefully someone can help me :)

Not sure if it is of help as I don't have the same hardware, but some more general options:

Soundcard may have an option to set volume to in and or outputs. (Also make sure you don't monitor inputs)

Volume for input in Cross > Preferences > Audio tab (guess you've seen this)

Maybe a volume option by the OS for the soundcard.

Further double check you have line/phono switched according to use.

If none of these was of help, please try step by step. So check if soundcard only with same speakers would make a difference.

And please mention the version you use (latest now is 3.3.10)

i'm using a macbook and it doesn't seem to have any options that would matter in the sound tab. input in Cross is set to 0db on both channels, inputs on the soundcard and the channels on my mixer a both set to line. i use the latest version of mixvibes Cross. i really have no clue :?:

Im having a similar problem. Not used Cross for a while, connecting it all up as have a house party next Friday (the 13th!! )

Managed to get timecode vinlys and normal vinyls now working together but;

Vinyls - much louder than timecodes (almost a bit too loud) ive tried the gains and nothing seems to change it

Timecodes- seem very quiet compared to the vinyls.

My settings; audio - set to line and on 28db for both input 1 and 2
Vinyl/CD settings - input set to 28db as in audio. Gain set to 4db for both decks

Not sure if i should post here as its a similar issue or start a new post so i might do both!

Any help appreciated. :D

somehow i fixed this by changing the usb port on my macbook. it was connected to an external usb device and i tried to connect it directly to one of the usb ports on my mac and it worked..well can be closed, hope it stays like that now. thanks for the help anyways.

I suppose you have a non-powered hub. That might be of influence. Nevertheless connecting audio devices the shortest way is often least disturbing.

Powered hub is recommended so you can hook up any device, esspecially external hdd can consume all power of a usb host via one pf it's port.
