Just updated to 3.3.9 and now the sync button syncs to the previous cycle (/bar/note, depending on how you have it set), not the closest one. So a new sequence is approaching, to get it in sync i have to wait till after the sequence starts to press sync button, instead of pressing it just before so it would start in sync at the begining of a sequence. Hopefully that all makes sense....
Is there a setting I've missed to change this or is this just how it now works ?

Are the quantize and snap settings on?

Yes, (both set to 1)

3.3.10 is also doing this. I have to press sync after the start of the sequence i want to sync it to, if u press it before it syncs back to the last quarter cycle. It was much better when you could press sync a couple of beats before the start of a new sequence and it would start with the new sequence. Is this happening for other people?

If you want to sync by cycle you need to set this in preferences | General page.

You likely also have to get familiar with using (or disabling) Quantize and Snap feature to get it to work the way you want.

It is set to sync by cycle, the problem is that it syncs to the previous cycle, not the one that is about to start (like it used to). Snap and quantize are on, both set to 1, changing them doesn't seem to fix this problem.

Perhaps something similar that I experienced, there is some difference in SYNC vs the older versions. I guess it doesn't always function weird, but sometimes definitely.

That sounds like the same issue. Hopefully it'll get fixed in future versions.
