3.3.9 issue

it appears that on 3.3.9, the playing tracks are no longer protected from change while playing (NOT locked.) What I mean by this is that in previous versions, when a track was playing, you could not drop another track in that same player....it was "locked" from change until the track was paused or stopped.
That nice safety feature is gone! I was doing a practice set, getting ready for Friday, and I had a track playing, the Cross fader split running 3.3.9 with the U-Mix Control Pro 2 MIDI and I accidentally dropped a video track on the player that was playing and boom, the music stopped!
This is NOT good. You need to either bring that feature back or make it an option in the preferences. Its extremely dangerous for a live gig to have this happen and when you are dealing with a mouse/keyboard situation in a dark room, you and screw up a night if this happens in front of a crowd.
