What are the latency values you use for the 2 versions.

44100Hz
512amples (11.6 ms)

That value is somewhat high. I'm running my soundcard with 1.1ms. Many DJ's feel like 5ms is 'responsive' for scratching.

Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing, 'latency' is related to audio, so a to low latency creates dropouts or even non-functioning soundcard. High latency means lower CPU usage and less responsive.

Technically it is the duration of the sound that the CPU sends to the soundcard buffer, which also determines the frequency with which the CPU has to refill the buffer.

As others haven't reported latency issues and it is quite uncommon for MAC it might be something else you mean. So please put some more words in to describe what you notice to be wrong and what you expect to hear/see.

Actually, i'm getting 11.6ms out of mine right now, but that's with the built in output. I've not got my controller with me right now to test with the audio on that.

I also notice that this latency goes down as I increase the sample rate.

Did you try setting to a lower value? Even internal usually can get lower, like 256 without dropouts.

A general rule of thump is the higher the price the lower the latency.... The trick is to find the ones not following this price rule...

I played around lowering to 256 samples and 5.8 ms but i don't see abetter response. still same problem.

I use a hard drive to play my videos maybe there is a better way to add videos. I just creat a play lists and add the videos.

i'm using a mac 10.7
maybe there are some tips to improve my computer performance. but for the last 3 years i have been using traktor without a problem

Sorry but I think I have a problem with understanding your issue.

You can lower your latency to 256 without having audio problems?

If so could you try to describe in some more detail what the latency problem is as there seems to be an other issue then audio latency.

General causes for slow external disks can be protective software, usb power insufficient to start hdd speed up, power save on usb port and/or hdd.

At 256 im getting a a little over 5ms which is better. I'm going to do some extended testing to see if I get any dropouts compared to 512 buffer.

I still have problems on latency in audio and video even with the new up date except on the version 3.2.1 when I used I don't have latency problems.

I'm the only one or somebody else too?
