Strange Noises

Hi, I'm having a problem with Cross, hope someone can help me.
Basically, every action, even opening the program itself, generates a loud noise through my speakers like a piano with loads of reverb.

This has happened ever since V3 - I am still using V2 because of it and that is fine.

I don't notice it if I use an Asio interface, but I'm on the road a lot an most often use headphones through the built in jack on my laptop.

If I record my mixes through the Cross built-in record then the sounds don't show up on the recording, they are just very annoying when using the program.

I've taken a screen cap of the problem here: http://youtu.be/OTr74rio9fI

Has anyone else had this?
If someone can help me solve the issue I'd be really grateful.
Thanks

 thats wierd ,, first of welcome ,, this doesnt seem to be a issue with Cross rather ,,maybe the o s and sound schemes ,, ,first give info to os and set up ,, this only presents it self when using installed sc ,, so info on that also ,, ,,check your sound settings windows has a third tab for sound schemes ,, try checking none ..

:?: did you apply changes in sounds ,,or reboot to effect chamges ,, :?: what where they set at just for info :?:

Hey, thanks for the response.
I have tried setting the sound scheme to "None" - it made no difference :(

My OS details are:

It only happens on Cross V3 and above.
V2.6.0 functions perfectly.

I can't fathom why it happens at all, each button click in Cross is accompanied with that piano sound.
I have a lot of VSTs installed (although none as far as I can see are active with Cross), I did wonder if any of them would be causing it....

You better use asio4all driver with your local sc hooked up. Download from asio4all. Com

Maybe your sound is feedback from laptpp mic.

Some kind of Ground loop problem?

What sort of equipment are you using?

Thanks all,
The suggestion of installing Asio4All worked - so I guess its something to do with the Realtek drivers...

Problem not "solved" - but work-around in place :-)

It is not so much a workaround as it is the recommended way of using. You will have a significant lower latency now.

But yes problem likely driver based though it still could ne an other program associated with the wdm routong
