Cross getting beatgrid wrong

Hi guys,

I remember seeing this raised on here before, but not sure how it was fixed.

Pretty much every track I load Cross seems to miss the first beat when the beatgrid is created. I've attached the image and included a link to the track. I'd be interested how others find this track to be analysed?

Track

Any other advice as to why this is happening more frequently? I don't really play many complicated tracks, just techno, house so I don't think it is the style that I'm playing.

I tried your file and the beatgrid was spot on.
Could it be that your database is corrupt in some way? :surprised:

Could well be! But how do I fix it?

Don't want to lose my whole library :-(

I couldn't find the topic. If I remember right someone reinstalled after which it was fixed. I would also check if the mixvibes . settings file is removed before install. Make sure no other audio programs are running.

Not likely a database issue as the grid is in the analyses file. After this try to analyse beat only. I would recommend to create 3 playlists to sort collection by bpm range as in preferences. So you use the same range as it is now.and if you forget to change range at least you know which tracks have to be redone.

You do loose your preferences by deleting the settings filevso make sure to point to the current folder before starting.

Thanks for the help - just want to make sure that I follow. Step by step, what do I need to do?

1) Backup collection
2) Uninstall Cross
3) Check for settings file - delete if found (where is it located?)
4) Reinstall Cross
5) Test track again, beat only analysis

Is that right?

Right, I went ahead and moved the mixvibes.settings file out of the way and started up Cross...

...and it looks like all is good again! Very strange, but that seems to be the solution.

I backed up my collection first.

The settings file was here -

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MixVibes\Mixvibes.settings (Windows 8.1)

I simply moved it to my desktop and started up Cross. No reinstall, but a new settings file was created. Had to load my collection from its original location. A new settings file was created.

I have to reanalyse tracks that were analysed previously and are incorrect. New tracks are analysed correctly though.
