MIDI IN signal not smooth

I am assigning fader control to Cross 3.1 from an XDJ-Aero.
The fader (volume fader, also Cross fader too) in the software jumps all over the place. I have done this with this controller in other softwares (Traktor, Algoriddim) and it works as sit should but not with Cross.

After assign of control, select next row in large grey box on top. gives more settings to fit fader behaviour.

Ok, I tried that but that is not it.
However, I think I can define more facts to help solve my problem.
I am currently using a macbook pro. I decided to try MIDI assigning my Aero on my home PC. Here is what happened.
At first it was the same result, that is it was scattered as I moved the fader and not smooth. Then I ticked the "14bit" option and it worked as desired - smoooth.
I tried ticking the "14bit" option on the Mac and nothing, it is the same result - erratic. What gives?
I suppose some info about my computer set up is needed. So Macbook Pro early 2011 running Maverick OS. Cross 3.1 my Aero has latest firmware. Aero drivers for Maverick installed. Also my other MIDI controller (Denon MC2000) is smooth.

OK after a restart on the Mac and 14bit ticked it works!!!
