Cross 3.1 Crashing everytime

Postby GaryTheHat on 27 May 2014, 16:27

Hi

I have just upgraded to version 3.1 from 3.0 on the Mac to use the DDJ-SB mappings, however it now crashes everytime I try to edit track info like title etc.

Am I right to just install version 3.1 over the old version or do I need to completely uninstall the older version. Obviously I don't want to loose any data.

Cross versions run side by side. So you can get used to changes before running live.
If you have the issue with the same track, than likely it is the track causing it. Still Cross should not crash, so if this is it please make the track available to the support team.

Not sure what else could cause it, as 3.2 is on its way. You might want to step to the 3.2 release candidate to see if it disappeared.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Hi defiantly not a certain track as it does it with various tracks. I import them then go to info to edit track information. Then it crashes to a page where I can view a file and submit to Apple if I wish.

It will start straight away. Version 3 has been totally solid. So may wait until 3.2.

3.1 is supposed to be even more solid. Posting a crash report is appreciated. Though I don't know MAC to much I don't recall to have seen this issue reported in the last months.
WOuld be great if you can help avoiding same issue to reoccur for you and others.

I think it would be better for you to do all your tagging and editing of tracks titles outside of Cross, using deadicated tagging software such as mp3tag.

Once you have edited the tag, all you would have to do is to reload the tag info in Cross and this should avoid any chance of Cross crashing.

I'll reinstall 3.1 and try to post a report.

Hi

So I know have 3.1 installed along 3.0 and it seems better for now.

My set up is as follows

MBP i7 with external USB HDD with tunes stored on it, 99% are WAV/AIFF bought from Beatport/What People Play or direct promo's.

I buy tunes, then import into Mixvibes via top collection menu. The import always goes ok. As soon as i started editing the names, key etc (cmd C & cmd V) in 3.1 I would see a progress bar box flash up really quick, not seen in 3.0 and sometimes a spinning wheel again flash up quickly. Then 3.1 crashes to the mac screen about ignore retry or send report to Apple.

So far with both installed it seems ok no crashes although still see progress bar flash up.

I see 3.2RC is out I will try this to see if it's sorted it. As soon as I can post a crash report (BTW where are they located?) I will upload.

Ok, I have downloaded the latest version 3.2.1 and am still having the same issue, the last working copy for me is 3.0.

Do I post the crash report that appears after, from operating system or is there a separate crash report for vibes?

The latest version generally is experienced to be the most stable. Not helping you it seems. ..
you could insert a crash report in the topic or as an attachment. If you expect confidential info send it to support by email and write a post/reply so they know to have a look there.

Hi,

Yes, the report directly available after the crash is the one needed for further investigations.
