Audio output stops

Hi,
I'm using Cross 3.1 on a (recently formatted/reinstalled) windows 7 laptop. I'm using 2cdj's 850 and the latest Pioneer asio drivers. everything works except sometimes when touching/turning a knob the audio stops. The player and software both keep on "working"(the progressbar etc keeps going) but i have to hit pause and then play again to get the audio back.

Also when i was testing the laptop i heard some sort of noise or when playing trough the internal speakers (Like it couldnt keep up)

Anyone an idea on what the problem could be?

specs of laptop: i3-370, 4gbram (worked fine with Cross 2.x)

Sounds like an issue with drive and.or other processes interfering.

Do you have this with audio files or only video. Using sampler or not.

Make sure the audio cache is max value in preferences. General tab.

Disable proceses. Also anti virus (don't connect to interneh)

Make sure to disable power saving. Also of hdd.

And please try to provide a little more detail as to when it happens if you can.

I only use mp3 files (never used video)
Only the default processes are running as far as i know.
The laptop only has Mixvibes, chrome, Pioneer asio drivers and ms security essentials installed. I only connected it to the internet for downloading mixvibes/drivers/chrome.

power saving etc is all off

It happens sometimes when i "click" (with the cdj) on a file for loading or when turning the jogwheel, hitting the cue button,...
1 time I did not touch anything it just stopped.

Nice info.. Seems right.
Assume your running HID mode.

A more general reason for Cross to stop audio is when the audiodriver is not running, or stops running.
If you didn't could you try connecting to another USB port (when Cross is off) wait untill hardware is installed before starting Cross.
Double check if USB cables are connected right. (do you use a USB Hub?)
Try using a different USB cable if you can.

Don't have a CDJ, but the Cue command you mention likely is Cue/Stop and not Cue/Play. The others should not stop audio.
Check if your Audio buffer in Preferences | general is maximum (recommended). By this audio should be loaded in mem and in most cases excludes hdd issues while playback.

Hope one of the steps can help to figure out the issue.
