Cross 3.0 Crash Using Video

I seem to keep getting this occasional crash while using .mp4 files, the files are good, the program keeps running if I use just the controller, but as soon as I click ok on the windows error message it closes the program. This usually happens when loading a new track/video. This happened 4 or 5 times during a show the other evening, each time it was a different video. It appears to be a windows c++ runtime error.

Win 7 Home - 64 Bit
16 GB Ram
Cross 3.00

Below is the windows system event, any help would be appreciated or if you need any more information.

This is probably fixed in the upcoming 3.1.
At least, some C++ runtime errors have disappeared. Fingers crossed it matches with you scenario!

You can by the way check the latest 3.1 RC out and let us know if you still experience these issues.

Thank you.. I'll download it and see what happens, I did see that you addressed a number of issues with crashing/closing after I posted this.

I'll keep you posted.

3.1 seems to working fine with Video but I am now experiencing audio drops and temporary freezing when loading a track audio or video. This seems to happen on a track that hasn't bee previously loaded so it builds the waveform. I ended up using 3.0 during a show because of the drops and what I call "pops" in audio playback in 3.1. I tried adjusting buffer sizes up to 1024 (which is what I used in 3.0), but still no difference. Even attempted to make audio cache smaller and larger but still made no difference. Any help, tips, tricks would be appreciated, or if you need more information please let me know.

Some suggestions and questions....

Audio cache is best at max value.
Might you have excluded 3.0 from your Antivirus and 3.1 not (fully disable AV is most reliable, but not likely safest)?
Could you try the non-ASIO driver (WDM) direct?

Any other programs active at the PC?

Not really clear what it is, but seems like an activity at the PC that controls the file because Cross asks for it, but is not released really fast.
Are you using an internal or external HDD; are the powersave settings off for the device (and USB port)?

Thanks... I've bumped up the audio cache and the ASIO buffer to 2048.. seems to be better for the short test I did. I've also set the asio to force WDM driver to 16 bit.

I'm only running the MS Security essentials as far as av goes and killed unnecessary processes.

I'll keep you posted.

I ment audio cache in General settings. Not buffer size of Audio settings.
reverse your changes. Video crashing is not likely connected to audio issues (esp. not hardware).

Sorry for the late reply.. .Everything ran fine with the new settings, the only problem I still seem to have is when loading a track that has been Analyzed, but on the first time I load it into a player and it draws the waveform I get a hang. Is there a way to pre-create the waveforms on the collection so I don't have to pre-load all tracks? I've tried Analyze all, but that doesn't seem to create the waveform.
