W8 Driver Install Problems

Hey guys,

Just had to replace my HDD after it failed on me. I was all backed up so no drama there. I've replaced the old HDD with an SSD now as well so looking forward to better performance.

Trouble is, I've reinstalled Cross 3.0 and the U-Mix Control Pro 2 Volume Panel but Windows 8 is not detecting my U-Mix Control Pro 2 properly. It's visible in Cross in audio devices but in Device Manager it is listed as "USB Audio Device".

In Cross I can't cue tracks up - and in the Audio tab instead of U-Mix Control Pro 2 showing in the outputs, it shows USB audio device.

I've tried reinstalling the control panel but no good. I've done this several times before so not sure what's going on here.

Help!

Before guessing: what was on the HDD and what did you get from backup. Did you run a system recovery or something less.

one suggestion: remove (/rename) mixvibes.settings in users\appdata\roaming\mixvibes\ folder. If restored this might contain settings of previous situation.
Start Cross and see if now is detected as well.

I didn't restore to the new HDD. It was a brand new installation.

I managed to resolve the issue by uninstalling the "USB Audio Device" from Device Manager and then plugging in my U-Mix Control Pro 2 again. Everything seemed fine then.

I have had issues with audio drivers as well. Seems some MS auto updates overwrite installed. (Not using mv audio).

I'm glad it was a simple solution.

The SSD drive seems like a cost effective performance boost, but I'm still getting this -
