WMA Files in V3.0...

Was excited to see all new features in latest version, including a long-awaited one, WMA audio support. However, I noticed that after an import and playing/analyzing the file, it becomes unplayable in my original players such as Media Player and/or Media Monkey. All file attributes are stripped, and as I said, file is no longer playable in those mediums. Can only be played/managed in MixVibes at that point. Not a good thing since you need those other mediums for synching to portable devices; at least in my case. Why would you guys be altering the original WMA file?

Don't have the full answer to all you mention.
Cross does (enabled by default ) write to the file to update tags.
This could explain why the others consider it a new track.
Further details require someone with more knowledge...

Yes, Cross write tags by default.
But this should not prevent other players to read them!

Uncheck the "Save changes in Tags" preferences seems to be the solution in your case.
