when cloning a deck in internal mode by simply loading the same track to another deck, the gui-fader jumps to 100%.

 just tried it ,, are you saying the fader for the cloned track jumps to 100% or is it matching the track its cloning fader settings
didnt try it using a controller ,, are the settings of the deck loaded changing to match the cloned deck :?:

just a thought the take over function in the MIDI tab,,can the action you want to happen be altered there so the Cross fader stays where its placed when you are loning via MIDI controls :?:

maybe you have a point Dan :!: it might be cloning the fader position as well, but the fact that it's ignoring the physical fader is feeling weird in that case...

  isnt that take over control ment to do this ,,to follow the software rather than the MIDI control postion ,,if cloning the default might be the exact clone ,, and disabling this on the faders might give you the action you want ,, ,,just thinking about the possibilities ,,

if you just disable the takeover the fader position will jump.
tbh the more i think about it the less i like this behaviour...

All i need is simply cloning the track but not the fader, I'll take care of that myself
you clone and despite the fader being down, you'll have a massive volume boost, not so good.

:?: are you turning down the volume fader on the deck that being cloned to ,, and will take over disabled for the faders ,stop this action or is the default nature of cloning not changeable this way :?:

Daniel's right. 'Clone' also copy channel strip. At the time we add this feature, most of the people seemed to want this. As the main usage is (was?) mixing in 'amputee mode'. I'm afraid the only solution would be another option, but do we really want more options...? (instead of real choices).

I hate options

Now that I know, I'll just watch out for it.
