When minimized (to task bar) Cross sometimes shows video in tiny square at left top of screen. Actually opens full screen upon clicking.

Hi ,
-What are the major Video differences between Cross 3 and Vfx
controller?
-Further more can I plug 2 Pioneer CDJ 2000 on 2 different USB ports on my laptop and use Vfx software without its controller like Cross 3 ?
-Will Cross 3 take over Vfx??
-Is there any future updates coming for Vfx?

In my words what Unclevibes wrote somewhere many months ago.

Cross(videoplugin) has taken over, as technology of Vfx is history.
Can connect. will use HID for control.
Cross can use 8 controllers. Do not know how and if HID and MIDI can work together.

Likely more knowledgeble members will help you out further.

Thanks Ronald,

In your own opinion, shall I upgrade to Cross and stop using Vfx controller ?

Thanks

Cross 3 has most functions of Vfx. If I am right the only thing not in there is the split-fader for A/V per deck (Cross fader can be split). Further all is there, the Cross way.
Setting up (preferences) are way easier; hardly ever restart needed when changing settings (which was normal in that era).
Its really stable, also was in Beta.

Take into consideration that high end results won't be achieved on last centuries equipment...

I would await reply as to if you can use the controller as add on. Never can have to many buttons. Might also add seperate channels to deck 3 and 4 if you like.

I'm not sure how Cross (or /DJ) fits in upgrade path. Someone else has to answer that.

Whatever you select; Cross 3 is great choice

There are many, and in the same time they globally do the same thing :-) But Vfx is the past, Cross is the future ;-)

Yes.

Vfx won't be ever updated anymore. And progressively, Cross is getting more and more powerful.

Hello Guys,

-Will Cross 3 have generators as in Vfx ??
sometimes you need to use an audio track and you need generators to create a live clip while played.

Thank you

Not really sure what you mean:
Cross can stream (and record) from live input (cam)
recordings can be reused..
Video sampler is there as well as seperate audio/video loading. By which you can through in video effects instantly when security=off.
FX can be set video only.

Guess you mean one or more of these (unless Vfx could do more than I remember regarding this)

some thoughts about organizing recordings are being tested (no promise as if and when in a release)

I don't quite know what you mean by generators as I never used Vfx. However, I find the conversation interesting.

Do you mean to have an image that reacts in real time to the music being played? If it is, then this is what I called a visualizer.

For example, iTunes can produce an image that reacts to the music being played in real time and another example is G-Force which integrates with several media player including iTunes.

I ask because some time ago I requested either a visualizer or the ability to integrate with a visualizer. Couple of people though it was a great idea but I haven't heard anything else on that regard. With a feature like this I could play a track that does not have a particular video attached but the video is interactive with the music. In my mind useful for those old tracks for wich a music video is not available.

I am just curious about your thoughts regarding what i call a visualizer. I could be totally wrong about what you mean and please pardon my ignorance on Vfx.
