It seems to be analyzing the tracks every time I load a song....perhaps this is the reason? I went back to using 2.6 for the rest of the night with out incident....but 2.6 asked me for my license key??? thanks for your help!

Peak re-analysis is required for colored waveforms.
But I doubt it's related to the crash.
However, as Daniel said, any info you can provide about the crash would help us improving the app!
About the serial number, I need to check, but it's possible that 2.6 ask for serial after having launched 3.0, whereas 3.0 should not ask for it if it was valid with 2.6.
