unsupposed crash

Postby Sense of noize on 29 Dec 2013, 18:01

Everything was ok until SOME time, i don't know how it caused. Was playing in normal mode, without input, one channel output, in the middle of the track began buzz like cd error or smth like... then I played from other PLAYER. in crash folder there is nothing... how to be? maybe it's caused by 4g modem? who knows... :?: or by soundcard esiu46xl - I don't know.
help please

Hi,

Your message is not so clear :)
Did Cross crash (close unexpectedly) or not?

Moreover are you on PC or mac?

PC, Win7, HP pavillion (notebook), Soundcard - onboard (aimp) + ESIU46XL ASIO mixed to one channel in Cross. Esi, for certain, USB-connected, without external power supply. 4g modem HUAWEI - because no WIFI in a place where I was.
Also, I may add that program not so likes wireless mouses - it also can sometimes stop dropping tracks in decks, when some wireless mouse's connected...
I suppose it's problem in usb hub, but maybe not?

and yes, it's crashed - if you don't suppose I want hear buzzing sound for some hours long
sounds like you've stopped cdj-player with play-pause button, not cue) after 5-10 seconds it's become boring tooooo much... and i think you can imagine people around me, watching me in such situation

Yes we can imagine but as you said many services are running on your device. You need to check if your actual setup is able to support real time audio and optimises it.
Sound heard is syncro lost

Of course I imagine, and I regret you had such a problem.
But, if Cross didn't close unexpectedly, it's not a crash, it's an issue (maybe a bug).
However I've, right now, no idea of where this buzzing sound might come from.
Did you encounter the same issue again since then?
The usual things to check are USB connections and soundcard drivers...

Thank you for giving other point to see from, I'll also check windows bug reports and driver drops ar smth like.
I think that it'll be long way of connecting-disconnecting devices to usb and waiting of ocassional stop/break/crash...
The only thing that added lately was modem.

I think at least a part of your problem is due to interference of wireless devices or the next phase in your laptop, the drivers fighting one another.

It does not necesarilly have to be caused by your devices. The more devices are around (smartphone/tablets) or if some (to) powerfull wifirepeaters are around, the more likely it will happen.

E.g. the fact that your mouse input is not handled instantly is very unlikely to be a Cross (or any application) issue. Mouse has one of the highest priorities within hardware management.
Try turning of wireless hardware you do not need (wifi, bluetooth (maybe even InfraRed).
Use powered usb hub (connected to same power block as laptop).
Connect streaming data directly to laptop. Make sure to use a USB port that has full power (and not shared hub inside).
Create distance between interfering (connection) cables/receivers.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
