Cross 3.0 RC video capture device

Hello, I am trying to get an Avermedia Darkcrystal Duo capture card to work with Cross 3.0 RC. The devices show up when I look in the video devices tab but all I get is a black screen. The card says it will work with any Directshow capable 3rd party software.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this thing to work?

Hi,

Is your capture device working with other apps like Skype?

Won't work in skype says Can't start video, try closing other programs that might be using your webcam. There is nothing open that would be using the card.

I can get it to work with the software provided with the card but that's about it.

It is supposed to be directshow compatible, I'm not sure what is wrong.

I have the SDK if anyone that knows how to program could get it working with Cross.

Hi,

If you have the SDK link, I can check it out ;)

Is there any capture device you can confirm as working with Cross?

Not really. So far, it has been tested with many webcams but no capture device as yours.

The SDK you sent to us shows your device can be controlled using a proprietary interface. But we won't implement it (as there might be as many interfaces as devices...).
In addition to that, it could (should) work with DirectShow, but probably needs some particular config that we can't guess without having the device...

To sum it up, a capture device that would behave like a webcam should work ;)

I can't give you more info so far.

Have a nice xmas eve.

Thank you for all your help.

I have decided to return this card and try the Avermedia Live Gamer HD. I am hoping it works as it has accompanying software called Live Gamer HD Stream Engine which makes Live Gamer HD compatible with DirectShow compliant software by creating a virtual device called “Live Gamer HD Stream Engine”.

Will report back when I get it installed.

Got the Avermedia Live Gamer HD installed and getting a good signal from the stream engine. Everything works fine until I try to output full screen to my projector, it tries to output through the same source I am capturing. Need some kind of way to turn off the external display autodetect.
