Hi,
Would like to know if its possible to use the DJM 900 NEXUS MIXER with Cross DJ ( NOT Cross ) .. Also if so… What do i download from Pioneer for Mac & How do i use all 4 channels on External mixer ( i.e.. without players & just using trackpad … but external mixer control for 4 channels. Kindly explain…

You can use Cross and Cross DJ with the Nexus 900. What you would do is plug the USB connection from your mixer into your computer, and then use the 900 as a sound card for Cross DJ. Because the 900 is a single soundcard, you shouldn't have to download anything extra other than the drivers for the 900 for your operating system. I don't know what you mean about HID, cause you would be using only the soundcard and the mixer as a standard mixer, but if you decide to use Pioneer CDJ's, the HID control is the best around. Thank u very much for the help . . I have the MIXVIBES Vfx CONTROLLER but wanna use sample decks & control it via faders. Basically 4 faders when i play. My controller has 2 faders. So controlling the volume of sample decks via faders is not possible i guess??? Or is it???

In Cross, you have a total of 4 decks you can use. Each deck can be routed to a single channel of a soundcard, or they can be summed together in certain output modes. If you buy and use a Nexus 900, you will have 4 separate channels that you can use on the mixer, and 4 channels that can come from Cross. So, if you choose to have 2 player decks and 2 sample decks, you can control all of the audio from the mixer.

The difference between the controller you currently have and the 900 nexus, is that the nexus would act as your soundcard and mixer. So all the audio would be manipulated on the mixer, and the controller would only be used to control the track playback, locators, and any other MIDI mappable commands. The mixer would be for your EQ, gain, external FX, cueing, and volume faders.

I use an Allen & Heath DB:4 with a QuNeo controller, which is basically the same kind of configuration, just different brands. It works out great, and allows you to do some other stuff that's not available in the software yet, like routing and FX boxes.

I use the DJM Nexus with Cross 2.6. 4 channels of sound, works perfectly and sounds amazing. You can go into the MIDI assignments to program any controls on the 900 to work with Cross.

I have assigned many buttons, fails and faders to Cross controls. No problems
